Raising the Standards is a statewide virtual conference for families of children with disabilities, educators, and professionals supporting youth and their families in early intervention and special education.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Raising the Standards Conference took place April 15-17.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sessions discussed the following topics:<\/p>\n

Session 1 — Welcome, What’s New in Special Education, The Alabama Choose Act, Diploma Pathways, and Applying for Medicaid Wavier in Alabama<\/strong>
Session 2\u00a0— Understanding the 504 Lawsuit with a Q&A, An overview of the Alabama Medicaid Waivers, An Overview of Alabama’s Special Education Advisory Panel, and Partners in Policy Making: the Role that Families and Self-advocates can Play in Shaping Policy and Practice<\/strong>
Session 3\u00a0— Early Intervention Services Overview, Early Transition from Early Intervention to the Classroom, Managing Stress When Parenting Children with Disabilities, Raising Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect, and Raising Awareness of Autism<\/strong>
Session 4\u00a0— Developing Your Child as a Self-Advocate in Transition Planning and Looking Forward to the World of Work<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Certificates of Attendance may be requested after completion of polls and the conference evaluation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
