Our Special Families project provides primary and secondary training and awareness to families and those who serve them.
We provide prevention services to parents of children with disabilities to assist them in parenting their children. We help parents connect with other families and community resources, thereby reducing parental stress and isolation.
We also provide primary prevention services to agency personnel and the community at large to increase awareness of disability related issues and the associated risk for abuse and neglect of children with disabilities or special needs.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention.
